SNAKE CRANE WING CHUN - Encounter of the Third Kind.

In my last post I'm https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1128483597175221&set=gm.914173985371018&type=3&theater already mentioned this, as I was admitted to the SNAKE CRANE WING CHUN MUN and what this means for me ,

After I had already received a lot of information from Sifu Wayne Yung and Sifu Ridha Lhiba via videoconferencing and Chatts, came Sabine (my wife, who also Wing Chun practicing) and I be able to experience the pleasure SNAKE CRANE WING CHUN directly from Sifu Ridha ,

After over 40 years martial arts and 25 years Wing Chun experience I have experienced a lot. Among them were very impressive experiences of outstanding experts. But what I have experienced at Sifu Ridha was out of this world. Everything I had learned so far about Kung Fu Chi, Qi, Ching, power flow, iron shirt and internal Kung, was not comparable to that in any way what Sifu Ridha demonstrated. A lighter by 20kg man touched me completely relaxed and fractions of seconds later I found myself a few feet away on a couch again. I have written books, produced audiobooks and given seminars - I have earned my money trying to find the right words. But here I can not do that - I just can not put into words what we experienced there.

But it got even better. Sifu Ridha could not only demonstrate Chi and Jing (inner force flow) , he explained to me exactly and in detail what I have to do in order also to achieve this. At first I sat still a muscular power, but what I should not do, according to Ridha. I tried exactly to do what Ridha told me, but as I previously did not know this feeling, I found it initially really difficult. At one point I thought to myself almost a little defiantly: "Then I stop anything," And at that very moment he staggered back and yelled. "Yeah - that's it".

"Fake", I thought this could be possible I was totally relaxed and as Sifu Ridha staggered back he never realized my doubts immediately and said to Sabine:..?! "Come quickly and hold Thomas HERE!" (You should also feel if I "was set in motion" it with complete relaxation). Even Sabine could not remain standing. Then Sifu Ridha taught the same thing Sabine. In a short time Sabine experienced the same as I did before.

In less than an hour could us Sifu Ridha teach what I had been looking for - for me it was a "meeting of the Third Kind" And this was only the morning of the first five days I usually do after three hours of training mean.! 53 years old bones hurt, but here we trained seven daily hours and then had more energy than before.

In the next few days we learned that in SNAKE CRANE WING CHUN

- It's about Taoist self-defense strategies that obtain maximum efficiency without the use of physical force

- Are not techniques but concepts in the foreground

- A holistic health system

- A didactic teaching building body structure, inner force flow and Chi effectively developed

SNAKE CRANE WING CHUN has been passed down since the foundation of the Wing Chun to the 21-th century within the family, kept secret and guarded like the Holy Grail. Sabine and I now had the great honor to be initiated into these mysteries.

All this had convinced myself that I have found here all the techniques and concepts that were missing me by then. But deeply touched me something else. I experienced what it means to be received in a Kung Fu Mun (family). Sifu Ridha and his students were all very open and warm and went out of their way to make us continue what they had already learned themselves. Just a great Wing Chun family !!!

To clearly illustrate my present perspective - Wing Chun, as I knew it until then - is an excellent self-defense system. SNAKE CRANE WING CHUN extended this to a high-end version.

Disipleship

Being a Snake Crane Wing Chun teacher I had a number of students from all over the world . Some of them became my disciples but not all understood what discipleship really means, what  honor and responsibility title of a disciple brings. I will try in short to explain what discipleship really means .
DISCIPLESHIP
is social institution related to Chinese martial arts and has its roots in old Confucian tradition . This kind of  engagement  can be only found in traditional  Chinese martial arts and it is Chinese tradition for centuries . We need to preserve traditional cultural values on which foundation traditional martial arts were built or we will loose the arts and our self. It is important to know , discipleship is acceptable for all people regardless of the culture , religion or ethnicity they belong . Discipleship is ethical and moral guide among other things and norms that discipleship is trying to uphold are universal.
Yup Sut Dai Gee which literary translated means (In the back door Skill son) is the Chinese name for Discipleship.
Traditionally the Yup Sut Dai Gee or disciple  represents the school & Sifu in the public eye. If a Disciple behaves badly or sets a bad example it is a poor reflection on the school and the Sifu of that school. Dishonor is then placed on that school through the disciple’s actions. The Yup Sut Dai Gees looks after the school and makes sure that Mo Duk (Martial Virtue) is upheld at all times in the Sifu’s absence. A Disciple is committed to carrying on his or her Sifu’s teachings. Before a student becomes a Yup Sut Dai Gee he must  earn the respect and trust of his Sifu. It must be proven that the student who may become a disciple is honorable, loyal, reliable and has total faith is the School & his or her Sifu !
If a Yup Moon Dai Gee (student) decides to accept the honor of becoming a Yup Sut Dai Gee or Discipleship he or she then takes on the responsibilities that come with that title.

Many people now days seek discipleship for all the wrong reasons. If you want to become your Sifu’s Disciple, consider what are your  motives for such an action. It is not what your Art can do for you, but what you can do for your Art. You do not become a disciple to promote yourself. Quite the opposite, to become a disciple is to abandon your own selfish thoughts and dedicate your practice to others.
You must always put your Art, your Ancestors , your Sifu  and your kung fu brothers and sisters first.
It becomes your sworn duty to honor your teachers by maintaining your lineage. To become a disciple is like adopting a parent it is not something to be taken lightly. You will swear on oath to be bound to your school & Sifu until death. A warrior’s word is like an arrow, once released; it can never stray until it strikes its target. A Yup Sut Dai Gee also takes on the responsibilities of the school’s growth. If a school does not grow it dies. So the disciple shares this burden with the Sifu. It is said if a Sifu has many Yup Sut Dai Gees, his school will prosper. Because there are many looking out for the well being of the Sifu & school.
