On December 19th 2015, Snake Crane representative, Master Rhida Liba, from France conducted Bai Si ceremony for new members of his club. In the name of Snake Crane Wing Chun family new members were welcomed by Master Wayne Yung who witnessed the ceremony thorough Skype . SCWC family is becoming richer in numbers every day all over the world .

Snake Crane Historical Journey

Snake Crane Wing Chun family was invited to Foshan, China by government officials to conduct a historical research and share information about life of SCWC ancestors . It was really a historical journey, not only that SCWC history was confirmed for the most part and new, exciting information were discovered , this was also , probably the most significant historical and cultural research ever conducted in Wing Chun community . It is significant for several reasons. First, this is probably the first serious research conducted by the standards of scientific method. All possible and available sources of information were processed, written and artifacts from museum’s and private collections, living witnesses, ancestral temples and other archeological sites were also visited and information gathered and processed. For the first time a research team was collecting real information and a real historian was involved in a research. One more important thing that happened, a bright example among Wing Chun families is historical, technical and cultural exchange between SCWC, Yuen Kai Shan and Cheung Bo wck families( lineages) which will lead to future cooperation. New interesting facts were discovered and technical research and Kuen Kuit exchange led to several very interesting conclusion regarding ancient history of Wing Chun and its later development.

On 25th October, Snake Crane Wing Chun delegation met Mr. Tang Kwong Man, a retired chief expert of the Foshan Wushu History Research Centre, who discovered the only known portrait of Leung Jan  in Leung Jan'a old house. A lot of Wushu and Wing Chun historical information has been shared. In the future , cooperation between Mr.Tang and Sifu Wayne Yung will be continued

Snake Crane Wing Chun visited Yuen Kay Shan Wing Chun Tong in Foshan. Grandmaster Leung Au(梁牛宗師) and Master Leung Jeum Sing（梁湛聲師傅）warmly welcomed SCWC delegation. A lot information , technical , historical, cultural were exchanged and some exciting discoveries were made. Both lineages looking forward for future cooperation and exchange

Snake Crane Wing Chun visited Cheung Bo lineage gatekeeper , Master Mak Yiu Ming（麥耀明師傅）in Yiu Bo Wing Chun Kuen Gwoon（耀保詠春拳館）.Sifu Mak is one of the most knowledgeable masters of traidtional Wing Chun ways . 

Snake Crane Wing Chun delegation visited Law family ancestral village and Law family ancestral temple . In a village SCWC delegatin met with a village secretary (smoething like a mayor ) and 
賣魚強 a famous dragon style senior ,79 years of age, who helped to get to the law village where scwc 3rd ancestor law tiu wen lived

 Snake Crane Wing Chun delegation visited Yip Man's musem in Foshan , although from different , unrelated linage , Yip Man was a great master who have our respect .

 

 Sbake Crane Wing Chun delgation paied a visit to a Grandstudent of Chan Wah Shun , a man who witnessed a good part of Wing Chun history and provided a great deal of valuable information.

The whole trip had media support, story about SCWC visit and research was published in a newspaer and TV report was made about it.

Like it was said before a great deal of historical information about Snake Crane wck of Law family, Law family its self and Wing Chun in general was discovered and confirmed . In time , we will publish all our findings in detail , for now it is important to say that Snake Crane Wing Chun history from 1880”s till this day was confirmed and verified. We are able to present factual history without legends , folk talks , exaggeration from 1880’s till today . Further research remains to be done about very beginning of the style’s history but we have hope that , with some more effort and serious work , real facts will be finally revealed and data we have now about that period will be confirmed ,just as it was the case with data about the period mentioned above.
